THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Manager – Peace Hills Utilities Inc. to join a growing municipality in central Alberta. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Municipal Services, this role assumes primary responsibility for overseeing the operations of utilities under the jurisdiction of the Peace Hills Utilities Inc. (PHUI) Board of Directors. The key objective is to provide customers with a dependable water and sewer service at the most competitive rates possible, aligning with both cost considerations and board policies. This includes a conscientious consideration of the utilities’ obligations to customers, employees, and various government bodies that authorize and regulate their operations, as well as managing shared assets with the City. The role exercises significant autonomy in planning, scheduling, coordinating and indirectly supervising personnel.
The position is tasked with directing and administering all utility activities, operating within the framework of approved policies, budgets, and programs as developed by the PHUI Board. Regular interaction is expected with members of the PHUI Board, provincial government officials, elected city officials, contractors, consultants, department heads, employees and the general public.
